Consulting Forester

A Consulting Forester provides expert advice and services to landowners and other clients on forest management, timber sales, and related issues, helping them make informed decisions about their forest resources. 

Forest Management Planning:

• Develops and implements forest management plans to achieve specific landowner objectives, such as timber production, wildlife habitat, or recreational use. 

• Assesses forest conditions, including tree species, age, health, and density. 

• Recommends silvicultural practices (e.g., thinning, prescribed burning) to improve forest health and productivity. 

Timber Sales and Marketing:

• Assists landowners in preparing and managing timber sales, ensuring fair prices and protecting their interests. 

• Provides expertise in timber cruising, volume estimation, and timber marketing. 

• Negotiates timber sale contracts and oversees timber harvesting operations. 

Land Management and Resource Protection:

• Conducts boundary surveys, provides damage estimates, and assists with legal matters related to forest land. 

• Helps landowners navigate tax issues related to forestry. 

• Oversees tree-planting campaigns and coordinates pest control efforts.
